This page contains expanded instructions for installing the wire protection product on your accessories. I have written them to cover the installation on servo leads. Please use this as a guide for other applications of the product.
1. Cut small (1/8 in) wrap to length required. Try one first so you can then adjust the length of the remaining pieces required. I usually add about a 1/4 in (7 mm) to what is needed to cover loss while melting the ends. use a hot knife for best results when cutting. I personally use a soldering iron and a portable hot knife. Immediately after cutting the wrap you need to flare the end to make it easier to install. I made up a 'tree' with various sized dowels that I sharpened the ends of. You simply slide the end over the dowel and let it cool for a few seconds. Once it cools it will retain a flared shape and the end will not fray while you install the wrap. 3. I have found that you can work over all servo ends with a little work so I would try one first before you remove the ends. If you still have to remove the ends here's the procedure for that. Remove the end from the servo wire carefully using a hobby knife to gently pry up the tabs while working on one wire at a time.
3. Once you have installed the wrap, simply roll the end between your fingers to un-flare the end. Another option is to use the included shrink wrap. I recommend cutting it into 5/16 in (10 mm) long pieces. Then you simply heat the shrink tubing to seal the end down, while being careful to not apply too much heat so that your lead doesn't melt. 4. Once you've got one done complete the rest of your wires. The small (usually colored) wrap is for small wires up to 3/16 in (5 mm) in diameter. The larger (usually black) wrap is for double leads, fuel tubing, other accessories, etc. It will handle 1/4 in - 1/2 in (7-14 mm) diameter objects.
Here are some pictures of the protector wrap installed on different items.
